In a crucial development, Governor Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has declared a substantial decline in the activities of marauding armed bandits within volatile local government areas of the state.

Governor Radda attributed this positive change to the unwavering support extended by the local government Chairmen, a statement by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the spokesperson of the Katsina Governor, reported.

The revelation emerged during a meeting on Monday at the Katsina State Government House, where Governor Radda engaged with all 34 Katsina LG chairmen. Security, agriculture, food security, and primary healthcare were among the pivotal topics discussed.

"Governor Radda commended the collaborative efforts of the local government chairmen in tackling insecurity in their respective LGAs, noting a remarkable reduction in armed banditry within the frontline local government areas," highlighted the statement.

Turning attention to agriculture, Governor Radda reaffirmed his dedication to enhancing irrigation across all LGAs. He disclosed plans for the widespread distribution of improved seedlings and farming equipment, aiming to bolster local farmers' ability to ensure food security within the State.
